Da Nang, July 12, 2024.

Cocoon is a social project focused on Food and Beverage training in Da Nang, Vietnam, for youth and marginalized individuals in the community. This initiative is part of a multi-sector collaboration between the Rotary Club of Da Nang, Sunrise Potential Partners Social Enterprise, and various local and international partners. The project aims to provide employment opportunities for trainees and lay the groundwork for a startup model in the culinary field, with a focus on community economic development.

After 1 year of the pilot phase, Cocoon Course 1 students who achieved results based on the project’s monitoring and evaluation indicators have graduated. In addition, graduates have also been recruited by professional resorts and corporations such as Shilla Monogram Danang, Da Nang International Airport or Bana Hill of Sun Hospitality Group.

Speaking at the graduation ceremony, U.S. Ambassador to Vietnam, Mr. Marc Knapper, said: “It is wonderful to witness the milestones of Cocoon firsthand. I thank the leadership of Rotary Da Nang for giving me this opportunity and congratulate the graduates today. Your future is bright ahead; as long as you work hard with passion and determination, I believe you will achieve great success in your careers.”
